The work involved the remediation of an approximately 4.7 km stretch of water main along Provincial Road S.P.43 Macchiascandona, through the installation of a new HDPE pipe, aimed at modernizing and improving the reliability of the network. The new pipeline was constructed in phases along the roadside, with the temporary installation of a bypass to ensure continuity of water service during the work. The project included targeted removal and disposal of sections of asbestos-cement pipe, carried out by specialized teams and in compliance with current regulations.

The new line was laid primarily on topsoil, alongside the provincial road system and the existing pipeline. This work enhances and modernizes the water distribution system, improving network reliability and ensuring greater service continuity.

The project is part of the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance contract for water and sewerage networks on behalf of Acquedotto del Fiora, carried out 7days a week, 24 hours a day. The work includes urgent repairs to faults and breakages, repairs to network sections, replacement of hydraulic components, reconstruction of chambers and manholes, as well as the excavation and restoration work necessary to ensure the continuity of the public service. Among the projects completed was the renovation of a control room in the historic center of Grosseto, a particularly delicate operation due to the presence of existing underground utilities, limited operating space, and the need to minimize the impact on urban traffic. This task requires organization and timeliness.
